• Recognize cancer cachexia that progresses despite adequate caloric intake, and correct reversible contributors such as iron deficiency anemia and bowel dysfunction.
• Manage cachexia refractory to nutritional support, using chemotherapy dose reduction, deprescribing of iatrogenic contributors, and mental health referral for treatment-related isolation.
